WELCOME TO THE POMPEY PARAS WEBSITE An association of members, past and present, of The Parachute Regiment & Airborne Forces based in Portsmouth & District. BRANCH PRESIDENT Pompey Paras are pleased to announce that Lt col. Andy Charlton Parachute Regiment has accepted our invitation to be the President of the Portsmouth & District Branch PRA Lt col. Charlton spent most of his Regimental service with 2 PARA progressively as an A Coy Platoon Commander, Mortars Officer, D Coy Commander and Battalion 2 I/C. He also managed to slot in a period as Adjutant 1 PARA. Mixed in with these positions were many varied training and Staff postings before becoming Regimental Lt col. for two years in 2003. He is currently working in the Ministry of Defence. Lt col. Andy Charlton said he is very proud to have been asked and is looking forward to meeting all members and doing everything that he can to further the objectives of the Branch.
